Where it all Began

The first in the So... I Met Series.

So... I Met a Ghost
By Paul McAvoy
“Well written, characterised and plotted…”
“Suspense, action, humour and just a touch of sadness…”

When my parents split up I started drawing pictures of gravestones in a church near my dad’s (I know it is weird, get over it), and here is where I met Beth. But I soon found that Beth was no ordinary girl, but she was in fact a ghost. I am not talking creepy ghost, the kind that puts a curse on you, but just an ordinary person really. I soon learned she was being chased by some nasty piece of work, and I soon realised there was only me who would be able to help her.

Not only was I going to try to save her from her hunter, but also try to help her move on, go into the light, and all that. Not much to ask, seeing as I was a teenager, was it! In the process I would learn that the ‘unknown’ was pretty clear, and that some men can be more evil than anything conjured up by the wildest of imaginations.

So… I met a Ghost is a sometimes creepy, sometimes funny short novel for young adults by author Paul McAvoy. A page-turner… you will not want to draw breath until the last page is read…

Current Projects

Hope you are all having a great Summer. I recently re-discovered a horror book I wrote years ago, which at the time I thought was not very good. However, I feel I may have been wrong: I am currently re-reading/editing this book and might send it off to a few publishers soon to see what they think. I have also finished a mainstream screenplay for TV and had my first idea for a short story in over two years! That's not including my never ending dystopian fantasyproject, another project or two with Mark Johnson, the animater, director, writer and voice actor...

Cover Reveal

It's here.... The cover to the new book, So... I Met a Werewolf...

 And here's the blurb...

'Lost in thick mist on a mountain in Scotland, thirteen-year-old Ollie slips and falls hundreds of feet to the glen below, and awakens with a badly damaged leg. Unable to walk very well, he tries to make his way to an old building (bothy) in the distance.

Exhausted, he rests, but is woken by a teenage girl, who helps him to the bothy. Here she starts to prepare herself, and him for her impending change from girl to wolf.

Wishing that the mountain rescue would come quick, she tells him her tale of how she became a werewolf. It is a story of sadness and horror, but Ollie must decide how to escape this girl, for surely, she must be deluded. Or is she what she says she is… a werewolf...?'

The book will be released in a month or so, £5.99/$8.99 in paperback and £1.99 in Kindle.

Almost There!

So... I Met a Werewolf is finished and off to the world of publishing. I have to say that the cover is one of the best in the series. Can't wait to unveil it to the world. I am hoping for a February or March publication date and am also aiming to go on a blog tour at the same time. Feels a bit strange now that the werewolf is done... it has taken quite a few years: I actually started it before I wrote Vampire. But I feel the slowly burning kindling of a new So... I Met book... at the moment I am thinking “Witch.” But who knows what will happen. I also have the  dystopian book which I have been working on. But for the next few weeks it will be all about the wolf. More news on the cover etc in the coming weeks…
